1) This comic is referring to the republican efforts to defund Obamacare led by Senator Ted Cruz. It is making fun because his ideas are both confusing and unclear and he often ends up contradicting himself. This refers to the saying "child's play" that is said when the opposition easily wins and compares the efforts to that of a kid implying it was very easy. This is why the comic shows them taking an exam like in gradeschool.

2) This comic is referring more specifically to the republican efforts. It makes fun of how they want to defund Obamacare in order to help out the nation, which the artist obviously does not agree with and clearly states that it will actually be the downfall.
If it seems to be so absolutely clear that what the republicans want to do is wrong by these comics and news reports why are the republicans still pushing for Obamacare? Can there not be united decisions?
1) I think this cartoon is poking at how the Republican effort to defund Obamacare may be becoming ridiculous in the eyes of the artist. The artist suggests that the Republicans are trying anything they can to try and repeal the Affordable Health Act, even if what they may be saying or doing could be seen as unnecessary and/or childish.
ReplyDelete2) I think this is cartoon is suggesting that Republicans want to get rid of Obamacare simply just to get rid of it, maybe implying that even if the Affordable Health Act brought its own benefits, they'd still want to do away with it. By using the phrase "harm the economy" in both statements, it shows that what the Republicans are trying to achieve by repealing the Affordable Health Act could very well be going in the opposite direction.
